The Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, has sought a strong collaboration with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Bauchi State, to rid foreigners’ participation in Nigerian elections.
The representative of the Immigration Service, Bappa Ibrahim, made the plea in Bauchi, at the one-day stakeholders meeting with the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria.
The involvement of foreigners in other country’s politics, Bappa said, will undermine the credibility of the polls as well as endanger the national security of that country.
In Nigeria for example, there have been allegations of the participation of foreigners in the 2019 general elections.
