Edo PDP leaders from Igueben LGA pass vote of confidence on Tom Ikimi

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Igueben Local Government Area of Edo state has passed a vote of absolute confidence in the leadership of Tom Ikimi.

The leaders of the party from the wards to the local government levels threw their weights behind Ikimi at an enlarged of executives of the party in the local government area.

The leaders expressed disappointment and grave concern about the unsavory news that has gone viral in the main and social media that the Edo Central Senatorial Executive committee including the party’s LGAs held an emergency meeting on Thursday 13th May 2021 and passed a vote of no confidence on the national leader on account of his position held in a meeting at the instance of the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, who invited him as a respected member and leader of the party.

The local government leaders said that having considered the resolutions reached at the meeting and reflected on the directives given to the LGA chairmen, “The enlarged members and leaders of the party at the Igueben LGA including the LGA Executives completely and unequivocally dissociate themselves and resolved that they strongly support and sue for peace, unity, and stability of the PDP.”

They also uphold their support for the leadership qualities and the contributions of Ikimi to the growth of the party, PDP in Edo State in particular and Nigeria in general.

The leaders of PDP in Igueben LGA denounced the vote of no confidence that was passed on Chief Tom Ikimi by the Edo Central PDP exco at their meeting and reiterated their firm position and pass our vote of confidence in the person and the leadership of Ikimi in the Igueben LGA and Edo central PDP and for the overall interest of our party at the state and national levels.
