In a statement from the UK High Commission, the G7 have pledged to assist victims of the Boko Haram insurgency in Northern Nigeria with $389 million.
The funds will go towards supporting the United Nations and similar aid agencies to help victims of the crisis.
The UK High Commission in Nigeria has disclosed plans to act now as millions of individuals affected by the crisis are unable to access humanitarian assistance as disclosed by Catriona Laing, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria.
Several hundreds of thousands have been displaced and many others murdered while millions have lost their homes, hence the resolve by the G7 leaders to commit to avert further deterioration of the people affected by the crisis
