Following the incident that saw the EverGiven vessel spend 6 days stuck and the resultant delay of trade goods at the Suez, the Head of the Suez Canal Authority, Osama Rabie has disclosed plans to expand the area where the ship got stuck.

He made the above remarks at an inauguration event for infrastructure products while the president, Abdul Fattah al-Sisi was in attendance.

Even though the Ever Given is still being held at the Suez Canal due to ongoing litigation where Egypt has demanded $900 million in damages, an investigation is also underway as to the cause of its running aground.
