Ondo Amotekun returns 42 suspected northern invaders to their states

Forty-two persons from the northern part of the country whose mission to Ondo State are not clear have been returned back to their states of origin.

While parading them in Akure, the state capital on Sunday, the Commander of the Amotekun corps, Adetunji Adeleye, said the men alleged that they came for a private firm security training in the state, an explanation that was not convincing to warrant their further stay in the state.

On Thursday, April 29, 2021, there was apprehension in Ondo State after news of the arrival of some men from the northern part of the country whose missions were unknown.

The men from Jigawa and Kano States after being arrested and interrogated by operatives of the state security network, Amotekun, in the Okitipupa area of the state claimed that they were in the state for private security training.

But not convinced by their explanation, the State Commander of Amotekun said their mission was not clear, hence the need to return them back to their states.

For official of the State Government, the decision to return the men to their state was to douse the tension created by their arrival

The 42 men were later led out of the state by officials of Amotekun.
