President Muhammadu Buhari has again commended the sacrifices made by the Nigerian doctors in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and assured of his administration’s continued support for the entire medical profession.
The President made this known while speaking at the 61st Annual General Scientific Conference and Delegates Meeting of the Nigerian Medical Association held in Jos, Plateau State capital.
It was a gathering of doctors from across the Nation, this time to reflect on the reality of the times that are defined by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The National President of the Association, Innocent Ujah, said the conference took place at a very critical moment in the nation’s history.
President Buhari who was represented by the Minister for Health, Osagie Ehanire, pledged his administration’s support for doctors and other health workers.
The Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Talen, and former Minister of Health, Isaac Adewale, all commended the patriotism demonstrated by health workers in the fight against Covid-19.
The meeting is expected to analyze issues affecting the health sector and proffer innovative solutions.
