Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, says Nigeria’s security architecture is now on life support following its collapse under the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government.

Speaking when he played host to traditional rulers from Ogoniland, Governor Wike said apart from mere pronouncements, the Federal Government has shown a lack of capacity and commitment to addressing the worsening security situation in the country.

Apart from the growing economic hardship being experienced in the country, another issue that’s giving Nigerians sleepless nights is the worsening security situation.

People wake every day to the disturbing news of killings, abductions, and deadly attacks by rampaging insurgents and herdsmen.

Governor Wike is accusing the APC-led Federal Government of not being committed to the fight against insecurity in the country. He said that the country’s security architecture is now comatose.

And as part of measures aimed at forestalling violent attacks in the state, the Governor is using the visit of the traditional rulers from Ogoniland to call on the people of the state to always be at alert and quickly report any suspicious activities in their areas.

Speaking earlier, the traditional rulers and chiefs from Ogoniland said that they were at the Government House to thank Governor Wike for the numerous developmental projects and programmes his administration has embarked on in the area.
