Enyimba Football Club of Aba have qualified for the knock-out stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The people’s elephant, two times champions of the CAF Champions League defeated Orlando Pirates of South Africa by a lone goal on the last matchday of the group stage to advance top of Group A with nine points.
Cyril Olisema scored in the dying minute to put his side in contention for the continental trophy. Sporting Setif also defeated Al Ahli by a lone goal but it was not enough to see them through to the quarter finals.
They finished third with eight points behind Orlando pirates who also have nine points and superior goal difference to Enyimba but fell short on the head-to-head rule to the people’s elephant.
The draw for the quarterfinals will hold on Friday, April 30.
