Prayuth Chan-Ocha, Thailand’s Prime Minister has been fined 6000 baht for failing to wear a face mask thereby violating the social distancing measures put in place.
The Bangkok Governor, Aswin Kwanmuang informed the Prime Minister himself that it was a violation of the rules, as he relayed on his facebook page.
The Prime Minister was photographed without a face covering in a meeting but the picture was later removed. The PM also reportedly reached out to the city hall over the restrictions which affirmed that indeed he had broken the protocol.
It is perceived that Thailand is trying to send out a strong message that indeed nobody is above the law and the country is not willing to take any chances.
