The Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, under the leadership of the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has advised Muslims across the country who wish to perform Itikaf in states where it is allowed, to adhere strictly to the Covid-19 rules and regulations.
Itikaf is the voluntary seclusion of Muslims in the mosques within the last 10 days of Ramadan. They would stay and worship and only leave on the morning of Sallah day.
The Council in a statement released on Monday said that the directive follows persistent inquiries from Nigerian Muslims whether Itikaf can be performed during the Covid-19.
