Governors under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have visited Zamfara State, to condole with the state government and the people over the recent attacks of some rural communities, where several persons were killed by bandits.
The Chairman of the APC Governors Forum, who is also the Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, led his counterpart, the Governor of Jigawa State, Abubakar Badaru, to Gusau the state capital, to register their sympathy to the residents over the renewed maiming and massacre of innocent citizens.
The crisis has led to the displacement of several rural communities in the state.
The renewed attacks in some rural communities in Zamfara State is giving the people cause for concern.
Several persons have been killed and others left with gunshot wounds, as well as displacement of many members of the affected communities.
It is in the respect of the maimings, gruesome killings, and massacre of lawful citizens, that the APC Governors Forum was in Zamfara State to sympathize with the state government and people over the inhuman acts being perpetrated on the residents.
The chairman of the APC Governors Forum, who is also the Governor of Kebbi State condemned the killing of law-abiding citizens and prayed to God to help the country overcome the security challenges claiming innocent lives.
Governor Bello Mohammed of Zamfara condemned in strong terms the killing of innocent citizens and vowed to work with the security agencies, to restrategize towards ensuring they restore peace in the state.
He insisted that the ongoing peace dialogue is one of the viable ways of restoring peace and tranquillity, hence his administration will strengthen the strategy to ensure peace returns to Zamfara State.
The recent attacks of many rural communities have increased the number of displaced persons as several villages were sacked by the attackers.
