President Uhuru Kenyatta has instructed for movement to and fro Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos, Kiambu and Nakuru to be suspended in a bid to curb the spread of the virus.
While the affected regions are beginning to register a decline in the rate of infection, it appears the government is trying to contain the spread of the virus by isolating the most vulnerable areas in silos
Recent data shows that while these zones are responsible for 70 per cent of the country’s coronavirus caseload, the numbers are beginning to spike in some other key areas.
Altogether, Kenya has confirmed 147,147 cases of the virus and 2,394 deaths, in addition, an estimated 526,026 individuals have been administered at least the first dose of the vaccine.
