Kogi State Government has announced the closure of all motor parks in Lokoja, revoked the operational license of the parks to enable it put to use the mega terminal in the state capital

The State Security Adviser, Jerry Omodara, who announced the closure, said the government has constituted a mobile court to try defaulters.

Policing the roads in Kogi State has been a serious challenge the Yahaya Bello administration has confronted over the years as the state is a gateway to over 10 other states making it a spotlight for crimes and criminalities.

With the drop-off and pick-up system of transportation that has its attendant security implications, the state government collapsed all motor parks into its 500 mega terminals in Lokoja.

Omodara said that effective Monday, April 19, 2021, dropping and picking passengers along the road will be treated as an offence.

He said that the state has gone ahead to constitute a mobile court to try offenders.

Commissioner for Information, Kingly Fanwo, said the state has been on top of its game with multi-lingual sensitization in the past few days.

With the latest development, the Kogi State government intends to monitor the movement of persons in and out of the state, improve revenue generation for both government and stakeholders in the sector, as with the beautification of the state capital on the other hand.
