16,400 of the 102,000 vaccines sent in by the African Union three weeks away that have reached their end of life are scheduled to be disposed of according to Malawi’s Health Minister, Charles Mwansambo.
Malawi has thus far received over 530,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccines through the COVAX programme, India and the African Union.
In total, an estimated 300,000 citizens have been vaccinated out of a possible 11 million as Malawi strives for herd immunity.
