The Katsina Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has secured the conviction of notorious drug trafficker, Ibrahim Ali also known as “the Good, the Bad” with 15 years imprisonment without option of fine.

The NDLEA State Commander, Sule Momodu who made this known during a media briefing in Katsina, said the conviction was secured at the Katsina Division of the Federal High Court presided over by Justice Hadiza Shagari.

According to Momodu, before the arrest of the suspect in November 2020, he was reported to have been into drug trade for years in Katsina State particularly the state capital.

The NDLEA Commander also stressed that the notorious drug trafficker has been arrested severally by the Command and was counselled as well as warned not to go back to the business anymore but persisted.

Momodu while describing 15 years of conviction as quite a long period of time believes that taking the drug trafficker out of the streets will bring about a significant reduction in the illicit drug trade in the Katsina metropolis and will serve as a deterrent to those who are involved in the illegal business.

He, therefore, warned non-repentant drug peddlers to change their ways or face the full wrath of the law just as it has been served on Ali. He said it is not going to be business as usual, “We are coming after you, we will get you, we will prosecute you diligently and ensure we seek your conviction to put you where you rightfully belong.”
