Cross River State Police Command have confirmed the site of decomposed bodies of eight beheaded persons found in a valley around the 11 miles area of the Federal Highway in the Calabar suburb of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Irene Ugbo, who confirmed to reporters said the Command has launched an investigation to unravel the gurry site.
Eyewitness account noted that the bodies were found by local farmers who were on their way to the farm early Tuesday morning, saw the decomposed beheaded body before raising an alarm.
Also, the Cross River State Command Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Solomon Eremi, said its officers went to the scene and confirmed: “eight bodies; one female and seven male” found at the site.
He said joint security efforts will unravel and bring to book those involved in the act.
