Checks carried out by Plus TV Africa which monitored the industrial action in Yenagoa confirmed that all judicial premises including courts have been put under lock and key.
The nationwide industrial action embarked upon by members of the JUSUN followed the expiration of a 21-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government demanding financial autonomy in line with the nation’s Constitution.
In Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital, the directive to down tools recorded full compliance as judicial activities in the state virtually ground to a halt.
Several individuals including litigants were sighted at the entrances of various locked court premises, with apparent disappointment on their faces.
Chairperson, JUSUN, Bayelsa State Chapter, Selepre Koin, said there is no going back on the demand for full autonomy.
