The organized labour has issued Niger State Government fourteen working days ultimatum, to meet its demand or be left with no option than to embark on industrial action.
The ultimatum was contained in a letter jointly signed by the Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Salihu Muhammad, and his Trade Union Congress, TUC, counterpart, Garba Kontagora, after an emergency meeting in Minna, the Niger State capital.
Some of the issues raised in the letter include failure of the state government to pay March salaries in full, continuous deductions for Contributory Pension Scheme and deductions for National Housing Funds, as well as deductions for Cooperative Societies, among others.
The leadership of the organized labour in the state is hoping that government will look into the issues and address them, before the expiration of the ultimatum.
