The Presidential Task Force, PTF, on Covid-19 has allayed fears over staging the 20th National Sports Festival in Edo State.
The PTF announced the approval for staging the games in the ancient city of Benin in a statement issued on Tuesday, March 30.
The Task Force confirmed that the Edo State government has made adequate preparations on Covid-19 protocols in Tadem with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and National Primary Health care guidelines.
The PTF also commended the Minister of Youths and Sports for understanding the need to postpone the festival several times following the spread of Covid -19 in the country.
The 20th National Sports Festival which holds from April 2nd to 14th was initially scheduled for last year but was postponed because of the outbreak of Covid-19.
