A middle school Ugandan boy without shoes who was photographed prior to the pandemic wishing upon a bus-truck with a shoe advertisement displayed on it has now gone viral. The boy identified as Elvi Bwire is an orphan who lives with his grandmother.
His picture quickly made the rounds on social media turning his story around overnight. Not only has been found by the brand of shoes who has now announced plans to sponsor Elvi’s education till tertiary level along with other well-wishers.
They have also gifted Elvi several pairs of shoes and what’s more, his colleagues have also gained a new pair as well due to his magical twist of fate.
“Schools here in Uganda just reopened today (Monday, March 1) and so we will go back to the school and search for this boy. Actually, most learners in that school did not have shoes,” – Brian Yesigye Bravo, CEO of Bravo Shoes
Elvi’s story reminds us all that sometimes wishes do come true and that humans have the ability to be benevolent and make the world a better place. A sort of reminder to be kind always.
