The Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, has sealed 10 filling stations in Ile-Ife and Osogbo, the Osun state capital.
Officials of the DPR embarked on monitoring and sensitization exercise to ensures both independent and major marketers comply with the official pump price of petrol of 162 to165 naira per litter.
Addressing reporters, the Controller Osogbo Field Office of the DPR, Olusegun Ogunnubi, said some of the filling stations were sealed for under dispensing, operating without valid license, inadequate safety facilities, among others.
He noted that the exercise will be a continuous one to ensure total compliance among the marketers.
Ogunnubi maintained that the exercise will send a signal to other filling stations across the state who may want to shortchange their customers.
