Edo Governor leads call for South-South to produce next President

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, his Deputy, Philip Shaibu, and some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state say in the principle of fairness and equity, the South-South region of the country must be allowed to produce the next president come 2023.

The Edo Governor and Shaibu made this known while speaking at a luncheon organised in Benin City for the National Vice Chairman of the PDP South-South region, Dan Orbih.

Governor Obaseki and his Deputy appealed to the National Vice Chairman of PDP South-South region, Orbih, to use his position to ensure the next president of Nigeria come 2023 comes from the South-South region.

Other PDP chieftains present also threw their weights behind the Governor and the Deputy’s stand on the zoning formula of the party ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

The PDP is very optimistic that the party will produce the next president of the country.
