Pakistan’s Prime Minister tests Positive for COVID-19 after Vaccination

Pakistan’s Health Ministry has confirmed that Prime Minister, Imran Khan has tested positive to coronavirus. Imran Khan, 68 years old reportedly received his first dose of the Sinopharm vaccine on Thursday but tested positive today.

Khan showed slight signs of a fever and cough according to his spokesman Shahbaz Gill.

The Health Minister, Faisal Sultan has encouraged the public to still get the vaccines despite the prime minister’s case as the vaccine needs between two to three weeks to develop antibodies.

Pakistan has recorded 13,799 deaths from the 623,135 persons that got infected with the virus . Due to a recent surge in cases, lockdowns have been enforced in some regions.
