Defence Headquarters Takes Medical Outreach To Kano

As part of its social responsibility, the Defence Headquarters has flagged off a two-day medical outreach in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State, targeted at persons with diabetes and hypertension.

The medical outreach with the theme, the role of diet in the management of hypertension and diabetes, was flagged off by the Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Bayero

Many residents of Bichi gathered at the Emir’s Palace, venue of the free medical services.

Those having ailments ranging from diabetes, hypertension, and the dental problem came out to benefit from the outreach.

The Commander of the Armed Forces Specialist Hospital, Kano, Vincent Abu, advised the people to take an appropriate diet and do regular medical check-ups, to prevent diabetes and hypertension.

The Emir of Bichi, Bayero, who flagged off the medical outreach, also subjected himself to the medical check-up.

He commended the Defence Headquarters for the free medical services and urged his people to embrace them.

Some of the beneficiaries thanked the armed forces for coming to their aid and prayed for their sustenance.

Over 1,000 people will benefit from the medical outreach and receive mosquito nets. Their children will also be dewormed.
