Kano consumer protection council confiscates expired drugs

Kano State Consumer Protection Council, KCPC, has confiscated expired drugs worth 300 million naira in the Sabon Gari market.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Drugs Regulation, Usman Naibawa, said this to reporters on Wednesday.

The KCPC confiscated the expired drugs from Abubakar Rimi market popularly knows as Sabon Gari market .

Naibawa said that the Council received complaints from some of the marketers on Tuesday and the KCPC swung into action which led to the confiscation of the expired drugs.

Usman commended the effort of people for informing the council of the deadly activity. He advised the people of Kano to make sure they read the expiry date of any consumable item, such as food and drugs before taking them.
