The Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday had over one-hour closed-door meeting with the Aare OnaKakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, who paid the governor a courtesy call in his office at Ado Ekiti.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Governor Fayemi, at the meeting, appealed to all political classes in the country to exercise caution over what they say while commenting on national security issues, as it may threaten the peace and unity of the country.

The Governor said though the Southwest Governors were very much concerned about the security and well-being of their people, they have a forum chaired by Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) who is mandated to speak on their behalf.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the meeting, the Aare OnaKakanfo said he was in Ekiti to have an audience with the governor, as part of efforts to find a lasting solution to the security problem facing the Southwest and Nigeria in general.
