FC Porto and Borrusia Dortmund have qualified for the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club football competition, the UEFA Champions League.
Porto defied the odds to prevail over Juventus on the away goals rule after playing four all on aggregate over two legs.
With two titles each, both teams have a rich history in the competition but it was the Portuguese team that got the bragging rights over the old lady of Turin.
FC Porto, winners in 1987 and in 2004 drew the first blood in the 19 minutes after Sergio Olivera converted from the spot to put the aggregate score at 3-1, Federico Chiesa equalised for the home side four minutes into the second half to raise the hopes of the Italian side.
The sending off, Mehedi Teremi gave Juve the advantage as Chiesa scored again to send the game into extra time.
Playing with one man down, Porto upped their game and were rewarded for their effort as Olivera scored again to restore parity.
Two minutes later, Adrien Rabiot scored the winner of the night to give Juve a three-two win at home but it was insignificant as the Portuguese side advance on the away goal rule after a four-all aggregate score.
