Sex-For-Marks OAU Lecturer, Akindele loses appeal case in Court

An Ondo Court of Appeal has dismissed the appeal of the OAU Lecturer, Richard Akindele, involved in the Sex-For-Marks scandal with a student Monica Osagie.

The lecturer has filed an appeal against his conviction at the Federal High Court in Osun State. Akindele was sentenced to two years in jail and dismissed from the University in the wake of the scandal.

Sex for Marks is a growing cause of concern in African Universities as the BBC Africa Eye recently published a full documentary on how Lecturers intimidate students into offering sex for grades.

More recently, a female student went viral on Twitter after sharing an explicit video of a Lautech Lecturer caught with her in the act.
