Obasanjo, Jonathan, other African leaders liaise for peace in Africa

Former Presidents and Heads of States in Africa have formed an alliance to work together in charting a way to peaceful elections and stronger democracies among countries on the continent.

They spoke during a virtual meeting which saw the inauguration of the West Africa Elders Forum Initiated by the “Goodluck Jonathan Foundation Peace Initiative For West Africa”.

Issues of insecurity, economic crisis, and election conflicts dominated the discourse at the meeting of former African Presidents and Heads of State.

With the inauguration of the West Africa Elders Forum, the leaders also shared concerns on how to advance and strengthen bonds for a United Africa.

Present at the virtual meeting was Nigeria’s former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, Liberia’ Former President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Sierra Leone’s former President Ernest Bai Koroma, and Nigeria’s former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar.
