Meanwhile, chieftains of some political participating in the election have indicated their will to work with the electoral umpire to ensure the success of the march 6th election.

Speaking on preparations made ahead of the Delta State Local Government Area election, Chairman of the Commission, Mike Ogbodu, said personnel and materials have been deployed to locations in 500 wards and 3,624 polling units across the state.

Ogbodu used the opportunity to commend bodies such as the Africa Freedom of Expression Exchange group, which has partnered with the Commission to ensure improvement on election systems in the State.

On the slight adjustment in the electoral process occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Commission said the Covid-19 protocols of face mask-wearing and physical distancing would be strictly enforced.

In a related development, Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Fred Majemite, and his All Progressives Congress counterpart, Adelabu Bodjor, have indicated the willingness of their parties to take part in the election.

As the electorates prepare to cast their ballots for those who will take charge of the various councils in Delta State, come March 6, the need for all contesting parties to play by the rules has repeatedly been emphasized.
