15 Hong Kong Protesters granted bail in National Security Hearing

At least 15 protesters who were at the hong kong protests that rocked 2019 and parts of 2020 have been granted bail after a hearing at a Hong Kong court.

The remaining 32 defendants, including Joshua Wong, will be held in custody until the next hearing by May 31. The bail conditions set include not being able to participate in any elections, except voting, not allowed to contact any foreign officials or lawmakers and must surrender all travel documents.

These protesters were some of those detained after coming out to protest the extradition bill which spiralled into a nationwide protest of over a million people in Hong Kong.

The Chinese government has since implemented the laws that will make Hong Kong abide by the same rules as the rest of China much to the dismay of the protesters.

The prosecution however argues that the protesters were in a massive scheme to topple the Hong Kong government and wants them all reprimanded in prison till the next hearing.
