As residents in the Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe pick up the pieces of their lives days after the sectarian crisis, more individuals are calling residents to embrace peace and resolve the conflict through dialogue.
The Speaker Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, had called for understanding amongst the people in Billiri in picking their paramount ruler popularly called Mai Tangle.
Other individuals have called for dialogue or carry out peace meetings with various religious and tribal groups to resolve issues on the traditional stool.
As government agencies and the people find peaceful means of resolving the crisis that had placed Billiri on the balance, more individuals have called for restraint amongst the people in Gombe.
The Speaker was amongst the individuals who called for an understanding of the law that gives the Governor power to appoint the paramount ruler.
In another development, peace meetings have intensified in most parts of Billiri town for dialogue amongst the people in the area.
Still in the process of dialogue, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Billiri called for an understanding for peace to take its roots in the town.
There are some expectations the moves will further ensure the process of healing and ensure activities return to the beleaguered town soon.
