The Governors under the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party , PDP, have said that the decentralization of the Nigeria Police may be the only solution to stem the tide of the growing insecurity in the country.
The opposition Governors led by its chairman and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal during a virtual meeting expressed concern over the recruitment process, neutrality, and capacity of the current community policing system to serve the purpose envisaged under the new police act.
They are also optimistic that the newly appointed service chiefs should without delay get to work and ensure the growing security tension in the country is douse urgently.
