Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams have both crashed out of the 2021 Australian open. Serena Williams tearily exited at the Semi-finals after a play against Naomi Osaka.
Nadal who raised to a two set lead against fifth seed and Greek prodigy, Stefanos Tsitsipas, lost the match 6-3, 6-2, 6-7, 4- 6, 5-6.
The encounter was a ding dong affair in the fifth set, as both players held serve until the eleventh game, when Tsitsipas broke Nadal and held on to win the subsequent game, to scale through to the semifinals.
Novak Djokovic eased into his ninth decider at Melbourne Park with a 6-3 6-4 6-2 win under the lights at Rod Laver Arena and will battle either Stefanos Tsitsipas or Daniil Medvedev for the title.
In the women’s singles events, with Serena once again out at the semi-finals, Osaka will face Brady after Brady downing Karolina Muchova 6-4 3-6 6-4.
