The National Council for the Control of Aids, NACA, has expressed satisfaction over the distribution of condoms as a tool for the prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections, STIs, birth control, and other contraceptive purposes.
Speaking during the commemoration of the Word Condom Day in Abuja, the Director-General of NACA, Gambo Aliyu, stated that since sensitization about its usage began, statistics have shown a reduced number of infections the world over.
He also added that the government will continue to intensify efforts towards ensuring that more awareness is created among Nigerians about the advantages of condom usage.
