Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has said that one of his administration’s cardinal programmes, is to bring healthcare delivery to the doorsteps of the ordinary Bayelsans.

Governor Diri made this known at the commissioning of the Kaiama Referral Hospital among other projects, to mark his administration’s one year in office.

Friday, 14th of February marks the first year anniversary of the assumption of office of Senator Douye Diri, as the 5th Executive Governor of Bayelsa state.

As parts of activities lined up for the celebration, the governor had commissioned an automated incinerator to manage waste.

The entourage later arrived at Kaiama where the 50-bed referral hospital, was commissioned to meet the health needs of the Kolokuma/Opokuma people and beyond.

Governor Diri further gave the directive that all referral centres started by his predecessor, Dr. Seriake Dickinson, be completed and put to use this fiscal year.

The commissioning of the Imiringi bridge in the Ogbia Local Government Area was the last on the agenda of the day, which attracted wild jubilation from the indigenes.

The attention given by his predecessor on healthcare and other infrastructural projects is what the Diri’s administration plans to replicate and much more but the accomplishments are said to be largely dependent on the support of Bayelsans.
