In a similar vein, Ganduje, the Kano state Governor has disclosed on the radio that it appears that the Kaduna State governor did not fully understand the security challenge.
He also mentioned that efforts are currently being put in place to ensure that herders do not go to the southern parts of the country.
According to the Kano State Governor, the Dasoshiya and Falgore forest are currently being set up to accommodate herders and prevent them from going to the Southern region.
In addition, he also suggested that foreign herders be banned from entering the country. Read the statement below:
“It is often forgotten that there are foreigners among those Fulani herders, but nobody is talking about them. The moment a foreign Fulani herder infiltrated Nigeria and commits a crime, he will be considered a Nigerian Fulani. Therefore, it is high time to ban them from entering Nigeria.”
Ganduje maintained that most of the crimes of herdsmen are committed by foreign Fulani herders and not herders or the Fulanis based on the categories of nomads he proffered.
