The Citizens Action for Good Governance has asked Nigerians to disregard the allegation by some media organizations alleging that the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, paid that his tenure be extended by President Muhammadu Buhari.

National Coordinator of the group, Nazir Galandanchi, speaking to reporters in Abuja, said the publication is untrue and an attempt defamation of the IGP and the President.

Galandanchi said the IGP’s tenure extension was as a result of his commitment in handling security challenges in the country.

He also added that the previous administrations had extended the tenure of IGP’s which is in the prerogative of the President and constitutional.
