Air Namibia goes into Liquidation, 600 employees discharged

Air Namibia released a statement yesterday to all vested stakeholders and clients cancelling all operations, effective today, the 11th of February, 2021.

According to the statement which was duly signed by Management, all aircraft will return to base and booking portals suspended.

The Namibian government, the sole owner of the airline, disclosed that all the assets of the airline should be protected and accounted for as the airline goes into liquidation.

At least 600 employees who worked with Air Namibia, 74 years in existence, will receive a year’s worth of salary as a severance package.

All who had pending flights with the airline have been advised to contact the airline via [email protected] to process their refunds.
