Tens of thousands continue to march in protest after a coup that ousted Aung San Suu Kyi from the government by the military.
Chanting ‘Long Live Mother Suu’ and ‘Down with Military Dictatorship’, the Military overtook Aung San Suu Kyi’s government last week Monday on grounds of election fraud with no evidence as disclosed by the election commission.
In the midst of it all, the internet was shut down and only recently restored as many converged at the Sule Pagoda – a key symbolic location, in the centre of the city chanting for her release.
The military ruled for over 50 years before Aung San Suu Kyi was sworn into office as the outcome of a democratic election process.
