The Federal Capital Territory administration says the popular Wuse Market, UTC shopping Centre and the Murg Plaza closed down by the court on Monday will be reopened on Wednesday Morning.

Reporters who monitored the affected commercial centres report that business activities were grounded in the sealed locations as traders called out the government and COVID-19 task team for being insensitive to the plight of Nigerians.

Traders and Business owners at the UTC shopping Centre are Locked out.

The Murg Plaza, directly opposite the shopping center was also not spared after the management of both facilities failed to provide basic safety kits to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The stranded traders said they have lost millions of naira as a result of the closure.

At the Wuse Market, the gates were also closed, but the Ministerial task team on COVID-19 after inspecting the measures put in place by the management of the market, gave assurances that all the affected facilities will be reopened on Wednesday.

The Ministerial task team on COVID-19 insists the closure of the market serves as an example to other commercial centres violating COVID-19 protocols adding that the measures are to contain the spread of the pandemic.
