#ENDSARS Inquiry: Lagos Judicial Panel adjourns sitting till February 23

Day 36 of the judicial panel of Enquiry and restitution for victims of SARS related offences sitting in Lagos. Ten cases were listed for hearing by the panel members this Tuesday.

“Out of the 10 cases, seven cases were adjourned for later days either due to the absence of the petitioners, non-appearance of legal representatives or other technical reasons. Two others were mentioned, adopted and adjourned for hearing at later dates, while one case was heard by the judicial panel.”

Taiwo Idehen, wife of late Deputy Superintendent of police, Joseph Idehen whose case was heard said she lost three teeth after being manhandled by Police officers at Alagbon in Lagos.

She is seeking compensation for the expenses incurred for her deteriorating health after the Ill treatment.

The justice Okuwobi panel adjourned the matter till the 23rd of February, 2021 to allow Taiwo provide relevant medical report to substantiate her claims as demanded by counsel to the police, Cyril Ejiofor after cross examining her.

It is still unclear whether or not the forensic experts have submitted the report of forensic examination into the Lekki shootings of October 2020 to the panel as expected but the matter is slated for hearing on the 6th of February, 2021.
