The Corruption Perception Index, CPI 2020 report published by Transparency International, TI, has indicated Nigeria occupying 149 positions out of 180 countries.
The CPI report of 2020 shows Nigeria moving three place down compared to previous ranking of 2019.
The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre, CISLAC, the national body of transparency international in Nigeria said that the poor performance can be keyed to lack of transparency in government spending, lopsided appointment, and extravagant spending.
The CISLAC and other civil society organisations urged the government to enact relevant legislation.
