Following the retirement of the former Service Chiefs of the federation, President Muhammadu Buhari has enjoined the newly inaugurated Service Chiefs to do all within their capacity to serve the country well.

The President was quoted as below“We’re in a state of emergency. Be patriotic, serve the country well, as your loyalty is to the country.

“You know the stage we were in 2015, you know the stage we are now, and the undertakings we made.

“We promised to secure the country, revive the economy, and fight corruption. None has been easy, but we have certainly made progress.”

The replacement of the service chiefs comes after several calls were made for the service chiefs to be removed.

The rising level of insecurity within the nation has continued on an upward trend, especially in Northern Nigeria.

The North Central Governors, whilst welcoming the decision of the President, has also urged the new service chiefs to employ state of the art techniques towards ridding the nation of the life-threatening vices.
