COVID-19 or not, Rwandans could not contain their excitement on Tuesday night after the national football team qualified for the quarter-finals of the African Nations Championship.
Although a 15-day lockdown is in effect to dampen the spread of the coronavirus, scheduled to end on Thursday, the 4th of February, several Rwandans burst into the streets, face masks and social distancing long forgotten, to celebrate the win against Togo which qualified the national team for the tournament scheduled to hold in Cameroon.
Some of the culprits attested to have forgotten all about the pandemic in the momentary show of excitement. law enforcement was later seen trying to restore peace and quiet amidst all the excitement.
