The Director-General of the Progressive Governors Forum, Salihu Lukman, has cautioned Nigerians against divisive ethnic sentiments while reacting to the quit notice to unregistered herders in Ondo forest reserve.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Lukman said that inflammatory rhetoric on the issue will be counterproductive and portends danger for a united Nigeria.
There has been an altercation between Ondo state government and the Presidency on the quit notice issued to unregistered herders in Ondo forests.
According to the DG of the APC Governors Forum, the engagement of stakeholders will be more productive rather than initiatives and responses that will be wrongly interpreted.
He called for a collaborative initiative between states and Federal Government saying the prevailing criminality in Nigeria requires unity of purpose of all the citizenry.
