The Vice-President of the United States, Mike Pence, has rejected a resolution urging him to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump. Pence not only disclosed that he didn’t believe in it but referred to the call as political games.

If Mike Pence had agreed, Donald Trump would have been deemed unsuitable to successfully discharge his duties in accordance with the 25th Amendment.

In a letter to the House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, the VP wrote as below.

“Last week, I did not yield to pressure to exert power beyond my constitutional authority to determine the outcome of the election,” “I will not now yield to efforts in the House of Representatives to play political games at a time so serious in the life of our nation,”

“Under our Constitution, the 25th Amendment is not a means of punishment or usurpation. Invoking the 25th Amendment in such a manner would set a terrible precedent,” he wrote.

At this juncture, the Democrats have expressed unanimously that the sitting president, Donald Trump will be charged with insurrection. Some Republicans have also expressed eagerness to have the 45th president impeached.

With Liz Cheney who said even though the President could have stopped the mayhem, he refused to and thus showed the greatest betrayal by any president who occupied the seat.
