Taraba State Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu, and the Senator Representing Taraba South in the Senate, Emmanuel Bwacha, have said there is a need for synergy between the Taraba State Government and the National Assembly, in the interest of the people.
Both leaders were speaking at the flag-off of the Mararaban Donga Federal Road, in the Donga Local Government Area of the state.
The event was the flag-off of the Mararaban Donga Road, a long-awaited project, which is the pathway to some of Taraba’s major farming communities.
However, the suspected rift between the State Government and some of its representatives at the National Assembly was brought to bear as both parties emphasized the need for synergy in the interest of the people.
The project which is worth 6.39 billion Naira was flagged off by the Deputy Governor.
He pleaded for the construction of other strategic federal roads, such as the Jalingo-Numan and the Zing-Ngurore Roads.
The Deputy Minority Leader and the Senator representing Taraba South at the National Assembly, Emmanuel Bwacha, appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the project and cautioned the contractor on the need to execute the project diligently or have the contract rescheduled.
Mararaban Donga links Takum, Donga, and Kurmi Local Government Areas.
The lack of access roads has slowed down agricultural and economic activities in the areas for decades.
The road project is expected to be completed in three years.
