Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade, has asked the Federal Government to fish out and prosecute the sponsors and financiers of the dreaded Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen, bandits, and other criminals that have been causing havoc in Nigeria.
Doing this according to the Governor is the only way to reduce insecurity to a manageable situation in the country.
Ayade, who was represented by his Deputy, Prof. Ivara Esu, stated this in Calabar during the Christian religious worship as part of the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance week held at Usang Iso memorial Presbyterian Church Nigeria.
The Governor wondered what the military is doing with its intelligence arms which is the fulcrum of the organization, noting that bringing the perpetrators to book no matter how highly placed would give a useful result in the fight against insurgency in the country.
On their part, the Minister In charge of the church, Rev. Ulari Ogbona, and the Chairman of the Nigerian Legion in Cross River State, Retired Capt. Joseph Offiong, want the overnment to pay attention to the welfare of the ex-servicemen and their dependents.
The 2021 Armed Forces Christian Religious Worship is part of line up programmes to remember the fallen heroes in the military who died while serving their fatherland.
