The president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Ayuba Wabba has condemned in strong terms the recent hike to electricity Tariff, by the Nigeria electricity regulatory commission on Tuesday, December 5, 2021
The NLC president insisted that there are an element of deceit in the policy, since the committee since the last increase was still working.
Wabba argued that while countries are giving palliatives to cushion the effect of the economic hardship on citizens as occasioned by COVID-19, the Nigerian government is acting elusive of the current realities.
The federal government had set up committees with labour last year, to arrest the twin increases of petrol pump price and electricity tariff.
